Full disclosure, while I do live just two miles from downtown Minneapolis, I am not really a city person. On any given day, I’d much rather be climbing a stack of hay, bottle feeding a baby goat, or tromping around in muddy boots, even if it were close to a pig pen. Quite understandably then, my preferred running element is definitely trails through the woods rather than paved city paths. BUT, and this is a big but, running in Minneapolis is really beautiful whether you love city life or not. With the Mississippi River running right through, the numerous lakes and strong park system that keeps green on every other block, I’ve been so fortunate to have this scenery right out my door for my morning runs. Every Fall I’m even more awestruck and this year was no exception!
One mile through neighborhood streets puts me at the Mississippi, where I can take loops of differing lengths. This post includes pictures from my usual route, but this is definitely not all there is to running (walking, or biking) in Minneapolis! There are so many lakes and miles of other beautiful trails not pictured.
How has Fall shown her beauty to you?
